It is important to understand the magnitude and the impact this project presents to LaGrange County and Shipshewana. The Seven Sisters Eatery is not just another Restaurant, Bakery, Deli, Gift Shop, or Banquet facility in Shipshewana, Indiana. Seven Sisters will fulfill a real need - one expressed by many over the past twelve years; over and over again we have heard the complaint "there is no other Good place to eat besides the Blue Gate, or if you want something else besides fried chicken and mashed potatoes, or want to eat other than the normal business hours, you have to go out of town." Not only does Seven Sisters Eatery fulfill this dining need, but it is providing substantial employment for over 100 people with an ongoing benefit to other local businesses and area artisans by its service and continuous supply orders.
Through much prayer, planning and wise counsel, God has put together a group of
outstanding individuals and professional staff in perfecting this extraordinary experience. The
"old country ranch" ambiance with leather chairs around a cozy fireplace, an inviting homey
dining room setting and charming restrooms, a menu which provides a palate of exceptional
food- producing that WOW factor – and a banquet area with functional attractive amenities, all
work together to serve the area's dining needs in a way that goes beyond the ordinary, creating
an extra*ordinary or should we say "
The restaurant style is twofold. The breakfast and lunch self-serve menu has been designed for the local area residents and tourists who are busy working, shopping or enjoying the countryside. We are excited to offer the first drive up food service window in Shipshewana to meet the demanding on-the-go business; as well as our convenient walk-up window. As the day begins to slow, our full service dining experience provides residents / tourists a time to relax while eating that extra*ordinary meal. Our extended hours of operation provide an opportunity to be of service from 6 am to 9 pm.
However, this is not the real reason we have taken on this venture. The actual purpose from the beginning has been to help others. Once we started to pursue this objective, and through much prayer, we have come to realize that it is not only our desire, but actually God's will to fulfill this.
“That they may see, and know, and consider and understand together, that the hand of the LORD hath done this…” Isaiah 41:20
